There are several ways to find data in the WebFMS system. Many of the system's screens show data in a grid format. For any screen with a grid, you can typically always:

  • Perform a keyword search from the Assignment Listing Screen's Search box.
  • Perform searches within many maintenance screens, such as Office or Clients, using that screen's search box function.
  • Sort data on the Assignment Listing Screen.
  • Filter data on the Assignment Listing Screen.
  • Group data on the Assignment Listing Screen.


Searching Records


You can search for a variety of data using the Search box. Any screen that presents data in a grid format typically can be searched.



Assignment Search


Searching for assignments is as simple as entering text into the Search Box. You can perform a keyword search from the Assignment Listing Screen that searches the entire contents of the grid on that screen.


As soon as you enter text into the Search box, the application begins searching the data. The more you type, the more the search narrows down the data.


For example, if you are looking for an assignment that the Appraiser Jane Doe worked on, the search immediately filters out data that does not meet those criteria as soon as you begin typing.

To view the entire grid again, simply delete and press enter or press the reset button.



Sorting Records


You can sort records on any screen that presents data in a grid format.


To sort ascending (alphabeticaly starting from A) , simply click a column header so the sort arrow appears.

Click again to sort descending (alphabeticly starting from Z). The column arrow appears in the other direction.

To remove Sort altogether, click the column again.

Filtering Records


You can filter data in the application based on any of the columns on the Main Assignment Screen:

Last Status           Client Location

Client Code           Line/Type

Location           Appraiser Name

Assignment           Claim Number

Inspected           Insured

Claimant           Stage

Year                   Make

Model              Appraised $

Sup #              Created Date



Filter on a Specific Column


  1. Click the filter icon on a column so the column name turns green.
  2. The filtering box appears.

  1. Select an item to filter on.
  2. Then click the filter button.


For Example:

To view only those assignments that have not yet been assigned to an appraiser:

1. Click the Stage column so it turns green and the filtering box appears.

2. Type unassigned into an option "is equal to"

3. Then click the filter button.

All of the assignments that meet that criteria — those that have not been assigned to a specific appraiser — appear.



Remove a Filter


Follow these Steps to remove a filter:

  1. Click the Stage column so it turns green.
  2. Click the Clear Filter button or delete the entry and press enter.

The Main Assignment Screen appears with all open assignments in the grid.



Grouping Records


You can group the records in the system based on a specific column or multiple columns.


To group records based on one column:

  1. Drag the column you want to group by into the gray area above the column names.
  2. Click the arrow next to specific criteria to view those records.

     For example:

     To group assignments by Stage:

    1. Drag the Stage column into the gray area above the column names. The available stages appear.
    2. Click the arrow next to a specific stage whose records you want to view, such as Assigned. All of the records that have been assigned to an appraiser appear.

To group records based on multiple columns:

  1. Drag the first column you want to group by into the gray area above the column names.
  2. Select the next column header and drag it to the same area.

  1. Click the arrow next to specific criteria to view those records.

     For example:

     To group assignments by Stage and Appraiser:

    1. Drag the Stage column into the gray area above the column names. The available stages appear.
    2. Drag the Assignment column into the gray area next to Stage.
    3. Click the arrow next to a specific stage and appraiser whose records you want to view, such as Assigned then Robert Fuller. All of the records that have been assigned to that appraiser and are in that given stage appear.



Un-Grouping


To remove a grouping from your Assignment Listing grid (or any screen that contains a grid), mouse over the column that is in the Grouped by section and click the X.


If there are multiple column headers in the Grouped by section, you must click X on all of them to remove all grouping effects.
