About Assignments


The bulk of the work done in WebFMS revolves around Assignments. Think of an Assignment Package as a single record with many bits of data about it. WebFMS presents Assignments as a whole package, but you only see certain parts of the package at a time. The tiles down the left part of the screen are the various segments of an Assignment.


Data entered on one tile is saved and presented on other tiles when switching back and forth.

Working with Assignments


To open an Assignment, double-click on its row from the Assignment Listing grid.


Or, you can select an Assignment from the grid, right-click so the Context Menu opens, then select View Details.


Note: Required fields appear marked with a red asterisk (*).


Detail Tile Components



1 — The Title Bar on an Assignment Package typically shows the Assignment Number and Stage.


2Tiles for an Assignment Package appear along the left side. In the image above, the Detail tile is the selected tile.


3 — The message to the left of the selected tile indicates that the Client has a CPA for the selected Business Group / Business Line. If not, the message lets users know to use PDA Standards.


4Client Information contains contact information for the Client and Adjuster.


5Assignment Information includes claim and policy number, selected Business Group / Line and Service Type as well as other loss information.


6 Insured / Claimant Information contains contact data for the Insured and / or Claimant.


7Property Information is dependent upon selected Business Group / Line and contains data similar to year, make, model and VIN. More Business Groups / Lines now have a Decode Vin option.


8Location Information indicates the current whereabouts of the indicated property. This information can be updated on the Contact tile.


9Contact Information indicates the date / time the property owner was contacted, the name of the Appraiser, and brief Contact notes.


Buttons appear across the bottom to facilitate an Office's workflow process so that multiple Assignments might be entered into the system quickly.



Tiles


Each Assignment has tiles that mirror CPA procedures and can be accessed throughout the work-flow process.


By default, when an Assignment opens, it opens to the Detail tile. When you click a tile on the left, it replaces the open tile.

Assignment Tasks


Within the application, there are many assignment tasks that you can accomplish, depending on your user role.


You can:


  • Create an assignment


  • Update an assignment


  • Cancel an assignment


  • Assign to an appraiser


  • Reject an assignment


  • Re-assign to an appraiser


  • Add attachments to an assignment


  • Create an invoice for an assignment


  • Return an assignment package to a client


  • Download assignment components


  • Send assignment components to someone


  • Refer to Procedure documentation during the work-flow process


Many of these tasks are accomplished through the assignment work-flow process. Others are options that you can select at any time during the work-flow process.


The Assignment Package consists of all the data that makes up an assignment and is accessed through a variety of tiles. You can move around in an Assignment Package from tile to tile. Any information added remains accessible.
